September Member of the Month Interview!
Q: What inspired you to write?
A: Well, it’s kinda silly, but I wrote as a way to escape life, to leave behind my mundane life and to enter a new realm where everything was exactly the way I wanted it to be. Nothing was out of place, and I could be whoever I wanted to be. Through writing, I wasn’t just a gender, an age, a colour, I could actually be a person, with importance. Throughout the hard times of my life, I could always turn to my little fantasy world and escape it all.
Q: Other than writing, what is something you do as a hobby?
A: I quite like cooking and baking, and it’s quite therapeutic to, at the end of a long and hard day, to just make a loaf of bread. The kneading of the bread just takes all the stress away.
Q: What is your favorite genre to write?
A: Definitely fantasy. I love sinking into a fantasy world and just letting all my worries be swept away.
Q: Tell us; what's your favorite food?
A: I don’t really have one, but I love Italian food. Garlic bread, spaghetti, meatballs, I love it all.
Q: Do you have a favorite show, right now?
A: I absolutely love love love love love the Trollhunters of Arcadia series on Netflix. It is a kids show, but it is literally so amazing. All three parts of the show (troll hunters, 3 below, and wizards) are all so perfect and I love everyone in that show so much.
Another kids show I love is Miraculous Ladybug. It’s got such an amazing storyline, and even though it’s for kids, it’s not a dumb show, it’s amazingly written, beautifully animated, and absolutely perfect.
Also, The Good Place. The twist at the end of season one absolutely blew me away. I highly recommend that everyone watches all three of these shows.
Q: Everyone is dying to know -- who's your celebrity crush?
A: I’ve got a few. 😅 My big ones are:
Zendaya (cause have you seen her? Like damn!)
Zac Efron (so dreamy)
Tom Holland (so fricken cute.)
Oh! And I almost forgot Halsey! (Can you believe it? That girl is so beautiful and talented)
Q: What's something most people don’t know about you?
A: The fact that I write. 😅 I don’t tell many people because they usually ask to read something I’ve written, and that always makes me panic, because I’m afraid to be judged. But it’s easier on a platform like this, where everyone writes, and no one is shy about it. No one is ashamed that they spend their free time creating fantasy worlds to live in. No one is scared to share here.
Also, something that not a lot of people know about me is that I do not have pinkie knuckles. Yeah. It’s weird, but there’s just a gap between the bones in my hand, cause there’s no knuckle. My pinkie’s still work just as well as anyone else’s, but it’s always worth quite a bit of shock value whenever I show people.
Q: What is one creative goal I want to accomplish?
A: I want to be a published author one day. Now, I don’t need to become a multimillion because of my stories, all I want to do is touch a few hearts, bring a few smiles on faces, and be able to one day hold a story that I poured my heart into, and see it published.
Q: Alright, and finally, if you had one wish what would it be?
A: That everyone would be accepted, no matter what they would be accepted for. Their sexuality, gender identity, wants, likes. I want a world in which no one has to hide who they are, and no one would ever feel ashamed for being who they are.
