A: I was a really big reader as a kid. The Eragon series is probably what inspired me most--after I found out Christopher Paolini wrote Eragon at sixteen I thought, "Why not me?" While it was a huge impact for me, I now cannot read Eragon's first book because it's...kind of bad, haha!
Q: Other than writing, what is something you do as a hobby?
A: I read a lot, which is my main hobby, but I also weave! I've made everything from wall hangings to a small carpet! I think I like it because the motions feel very relaxing and you don't need to pay a ton of attention unless you're using a difficult weave technique.
Q: What kind of music, if any, do you listen to to keep the inspiration flowing?
A: It really depends on what kind of scene or what character I'm writing! I listen to pretty much everything, from hard rock to kpop to classical music! It changes literally everyday. Right now, I'm in a Hozier but also a Hadestown mood. I also LOVE to write to lo-fi. I just really enjoy lo-fi.
Q: Tell us the origin behind your username!
A: Well, my username has always had some type of fae or faery in it. My first was the-little-dragon-faery. I can't quite remember why. Then it went to faerylights-and-starshine, and now it's faelights!
Q: Everyone is dying to know -- who's your celebrity crush?
A: Oh god, it constantly changes. Right now it's probably between...Christian Yu (model) and Eva Noblezada (the actress/singer). And Hozier, but actually, that one never changes. Long live the bog god!
Q: What's something most people don’t know about you?
A: Hmmm...On here, no one knows that I have really bad eyesight. In real life, it's probably that while I'm super organized and clean in my work space, my room is pretty messy!
Q: What is one creative goal you want to accomplish?
A: One day, I really would like to publish something. I doubt it'll ever happen, but it's a dream!
Q: If you suddenly became a ghost, who would you haunt first?
A: My best friend. If I'm going out, I'm taking her with me. Also anyone who ever hurt anyone I loved. I'm not the Oasis Heavy for nothing! You can bet I'll seek revenge.
Q: Alright, and finally, if you could be reincarnated into the form of any monster what kind of monster would you pick?
A: Ooohh...that's a difficult one. Classic fantasy monster, I'd say dragon. Actually a monster, I'd say a sea serpent of some kind. I'd like to be bIG in my next life, not puny like I am now!
Here's Xy with the latest on the big war we're fighting with Zegnum! We'll be updating all of you with the news of how the Multiverse has been split between two warring factions, and more importantly who's winning!
Toranok Sunshadow of Zegnum has been making a name for himself, striking the first blow on the Fyrox planet of Gelga. It wasn't as much of a blow as it was a load of angry yelling, but it got everyone riled up. Architects from all over came over to join the brawl, with a 2-1 victory falling into the lap of our Fyrox resident cat - oh sorry, Kaithrit girl aerithvalentin and a shadowy figure who We've decided to call "The Man"!
TheManInTheMirror has shown several signs of aggression towards Z-Alpha in particular, bringing the war to both Provin V and the Moon of Durog III. Provin V suffered heavy civilian casualties at the hands of the Man. Look out, this man is crazy dangerous, but Zegnum's Khesri of Tsaeo was able to stand his ground and guard the planet against Fyrox this time. The most interesting development we've seen so far is in the Fyrox soldier known as Galaxy, especially since she decided to publicly berate her own ally and leave the battlefield out of moral obligation. Good on you Galaxy! That's true sportsmanship right there if We ever saw it! The final score: 1-1!
Oh and Toranok defended the Moon of Durog with a score of 1-0, in case you all were wondering. We didn't have a chance to catch him for an interview, but We're fairly certain he would have described the endeavor as "an effortless waste of time" or something along those lines. Apparently the fight wasn't all that impressive, as We heard from the Moon's residents near the scene. Mega booooriiiiing!
Seildryss, the Crystal Terror is currently launching an attack on Pano, and after her only competition, the Man, was slain she still remains uncontested. It is rumoured that Enninisotera of Fyrox was scheduled to investigate that planet, but if she's there she's not super easy to spot. I mean, of course We know where she is but it'd be a massive spoiler if We put it in the papers. Galaxy has also landed on Pano so we'll see just how this battle develops. Right now Zegnum is leading 1-0!
The overall scores across the universes are over here! F-Alpha: 1-0 to Fyrox F-Beta: 0-0 Z-Alpha: 2-0 to Zegnum Z-Beta: 1-0 to Fyrox
The biggest event outside of the war with news spreading all across The Old Mother, and truly one of the most surreal circumstances the Archons could have ever expected, has got to be the publicly open Architects' Tea Party being held on the spiritual planet. The organizer, Galaxy of Fyrox, claims to be a peace-loving soul who simply wishes to take a break from the strife of war and just sit down to make friends. Will such an event be enough to prevent the Architects from butting heads, or will their feud overcome the tranquil setting and turn the party into a full-blown riot?
It is truly astonishing how even in the middle of an inter-universal war, one is still able to enjoy the simple pleasures of a simple tea party. Pilgrims traveling to the Old Mother will surely view this as a good omen, a symbol of peace that many of us crave.
The Fyrox influence is already standing strong at this event, with its only three guests so far being aligned to that faction. How will Zegnum respond, if at all? Everyone's dying to find out whether the factions are even capable of sitting together and having a relaxing time, especially since each of these Architects has a history with Zegnum on the battlefield. We'll bring you more updates in the following issue, so watch this space.
With the advent of Architects appearing all over the Oasis, scholars have devised a curriculum and have opened up classes at Tempo Academy. While the current staff team are not Architects themselves, they know plenty about the world and are a vital source of wisdom and instruction.
All Architects who wish to learn more about using their gift, or simply about the wonders of the Macrocosm itself, should inquire at Tempo Academy. The establishment would also benefit from having Architects on the teaching staff, so don't hesitate to apply if you fancy a teaching role that offers a fantastic opportunity to work with budding Architects and Non-Architects alike!
